In this tutorial, I want to show you how Credits work with AI Front Desk and how you can leverage them so you can provide your clients the best possible pricing, but also make profit on the margins as well.

Here at My AI Front Desk, when we say 300 credits that means 300 credits! Unlike most of our competitors, a 2 sec call is not considered a minute. We break down minutes into seconds and give you proper 300 minutes of AI talking time (18 000sec).
This includes your Inbound and Outbound (coming soon) subscription statuses and the Voice Usage charge that you have towards us.
Important note: Once this limit is reached, their AI will stop working!
Now the limitation is active. This is useful if you are charging outside of the platform and you don't want your clients go over a certain amount of minutes.
You can also give your clients an unlimited (considering fair usage) amount of minutes in a certain plan and have a big limitation so you don't end up losing money.
If you are charging your clients outside of the platform (not using Stripe rebilling) you can use this as a safety net or for creating different plans. After the limit is reached, you can prompt them to purchase more minutes.
What are credits? We use credits to define your clients' AI talking time.
We offer a variety of voice providers to offer the best possible service for you and your clients.
We currently work with Deepgram, Cartesia and 11labs. We also offer an option of voice cloning.
Quick tip: If you found a voice that you like online, you can try uploading another AI voice into voice cloning and seeing how that performs.
As you can see on the left, you will see your free credits in real time.
On the right you will see the purchased minutes after the initial 300. These minutes never expire and they are only used after the 300 free minutes.
Below that, you'll see that 1 credit is roughly equivalent to 12 cents or about 1 minute of AI talk time for most use cases.
At the bottom you will be prompted to purchase more minutes and you will always see the total amount of minutes available.
Important note: You always get 300 free minutes from us! In your client's dashboard if you use Stripe rebilling! you will decide how many minutes your clients get for free. This is really important. If you get 300 minutes from us, and you give your client 100 credits for free, in their own dashboard, they will see 100 free credits and not 300!
Let's discuss this in more detail.
Example case:
You get 300 free credits from us.
You give your client 200 free credits.
In your dashboard (screenshot underneath) you will see that we give you 300 credits and then you can purchase/refill credits after the initial 300.
Your client will see 100 credits and then they will be prompted to purchase more.
If you don't give your clients 300 free credits and you are using Stripe rebilling, their credits and your credits will differ!
Important note: In order for your clients to be able to use their AI receptionist, both you and they need to have available credits!
We charge you for the credits and you charge your clients. If you don't have credits available, you haven't paid us and their AI will stop working. If you have credits, but your clients haven't refilled their credits, that means they haven't paid you, so their AI will stop working!
This way we make sure that you don't get scammed by your clients and that you always get paid for all the credits used!
As mentioned this is the plan that you decided to charge your clients.
You decide how many free credits they get.
They can purchase more credits too.
You decide the pricing per provider (Deepgram, Cartesia, 11labs) as well, so their credits consumption is going to be aligned with the pricing per minute that you created for that specific plan.
Important note: Both you and your clients need to have credits available at any given time for the AI to work!
This is useful in many ways.
If you don't use our Stripe rebilling, you can now purchase credits for that client in bulk upfront and then pose a limitation and create a proper plan for them.
You can give them a bigger set amount of credits with a plan other than 300 and charge for that up front without thinking about sending separate invoices for minutely charges later on.
This way it is a lot easier for you to Scale even if you are charging your clients outside of the platform!
Example use case:
You are not using our Stripe rebilling, and you want to charge your clients separately from us.
You want to create a plan that will include 500 credits. After the 500 credits, the AI will stop working and your client will need to purchase an additional 100 credits to continue using the AI.
You will purchase 200 credits upfront (to get to 500, 300 free + 200 purchased) and then you have your cost for 500 credits upfront covered. You can then create a plan in your payment processor that will include this charge + your margins and you can charge a monthly plan without worrying about them using more minutes or you having to charge them at the end of the month.
You can charge them upfront for a plan and if they need more, just send them an invoice when they need more minutes.
You won't have to wait for usage invoices from us anymore to send your clients additional invoices.
This will make scaling a lot easier if you decide to charge your clients outside of the platform!

Important note: You need to have credits in order for your clients to be able to use their AI. Even if they have credits on their end, you still need to have purchased credits from us!
If you are in the US, 83 free SMS credits amounts to 500 free SMSs ($9.96 value).
Most of the businesses will never use more than this.
Everything is the same as for voice credits in terms of logic.
