Installing the Chatbot on Your Website

After configuring your chatbot on the Website Widget page, you need to add a small code snippet to your website so the widget appears for visitors.

Step 1: Copy the Embed Code

  1. Open the Website Widget page and select the Website Chatbot tab.
  2. At the top of the page, find the Add your chatbot to your website banner.
  3. Click Copy Embed Code. The snippet is now on your clipboard.

If your chatbot is already live and you need the code again, click Show Embed Code to reveal the banner.

Step 2: Add the Code to Your Website

Paste the embed code just before the closing </body> tag on every page where you want the chatbot to appear. The exact steps depend on your website platform.

HTML / Other

  1. Open your website's HTML file (usually index.html or the main template).
  2. Find the closing </body> tag.
  3. Paste the embed code just before </body>.
  4. Save and upload the file to your hosting provider.
  5. The chatbot widget will initialize automatically when visitors load the page.

WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Install and activate the Insert Headers and Footers plugin (or WPCode).
  3. Go to Settings > Insert Headers and Footers (or Code Snippets > Header & Footer).
  4. Paste the embed code into the Scripts in Footer section.
  5. Click Save. Your chatbot will now appear on every page.

Shopify

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel.
  2. Go to Online Store > Themes.
  3. Click ... on your current theme, then Edit Code.
  4. Open the theme.liquid file.
  5. Paste the embed code just before the closing </body> tag.
  6. Click Save. Your chatbot will appear on your store.

Wix

  1. Log in to your Wix dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Custom Code (or use the Wix Editor: Add > Embed Code).
  3. Click + Add Custom Code.
  4. Paste the embed code.
  5. Set placement to Body - End and apply to All Pages.
  6. Click Apply. Your chatbot is now live.

Squarespace

  1. Log in to your Squarespace admin.
  2. Go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection.
  3. Paste the embed code into the Footer field.
  4. Click Save. Your chatbot will appear site-wide.

Step 3: Send to a Developer (Optional)

If someone else manages your website, click Email My Developer in the banner. This sends the embed code and installation instructions directly to your developer.

Step 4: Confirm Your Chatbot Is Live

Once the code is on your site:

  1. Visit your website and confirm the chat bubble appears.
  2. Return to the Website Widget page in your dashboard.
  3. Check the My Chatbot is Live! checkbox to complete the setup.

Accessing Installation Guides Later

Click Installation Guides in the embed code banner at any time to reopen the platform-specific instructions. The guide includes tabs for HTML / Other, WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace, each with step-by-step directions and a Copy Code button.
