AI Avatar

The Avatar feature gives your AI receptionist a human-like video presence that visitors can talk to on your website. You choose an appearance, set a greeting, customize the widget, and embed a short code snippet on your site.

If you don't see Avatar in your sidebar, it isn't enabled for your account yet. Contact support to request access.

The Avatar page

Open Avatar in the sidebar. The page has a section menu on the left (Appearance, Settings, Widget, Embed Code), the active section in the center, and a Preview card on the right. A Save changes button under the menu saves your configuration; remember to click it after making changes.

Appearance

Pick the face and look of your avatar:

  1. Browse the avatar gallery, or use the Search avatars box to filter by name.
  2. Click an avatar to select it.

Admins can also create a custom avatar:

  1. Click Create custom.
  2. Enter an avatar name (3 to 50 characters).
  3. Upload an image file or switch to providing an image URL.
  4. Submit to create the avatar. It appears in your gallery and is selected automatically.

You can delete a custom avatar with its delete action; deletion is permanent. Use the refresh button if a newly created avatar doesn't show up.

Settings

  • Business name -- the name the avatar represents. Defaults to your organization's business name.
  • Greeting message -- what the avatar says when a conversation starts (e.g., "Hi! Welcome to our business. How can I help you today?").
  • Avatar AI prompt -- the instructions that control how the avatar behaves in conversation.

The avatar speaks with your AI receptionist voice, so it stays consistent with your phone and chat channels.

Widget

Control how the widget looks on your website:

  • Popup message -- the short teaser shown next to the widget (default: "Chat with our AI avatar for instant help!").
  • Widget shape -- circular or box.
  • Position -- bottom right or bottom left of the page.
  • Margins -- pixel offsets that fine-tune where the widget sits.

The Preview card on the right reflects your current shape, position, and margin settings.

Testing and sharing

From the Preview card you can:

  • Test now -- opens a live preview session where you talk to the avatar. Use the mute button to toggle your microphone and close the modal to end the session.
  • Copy share link -- copies a link you can send to teammates so they can try the avatar without logging in.
  • Preview widget on page -- shows the widget floating on the dashboard, exactly as it will appear on your site. Click again to hide it.

Avatar sessions consume 50 credits per minute of conversation. Click How do credits work? at the top of the page for details. If you run out of credits, the test session won't start and you'll be prompted to add credits or upgrade.

Embed Code

The Embed Code section generates a two-line script tag tied to your agent. Click the copy button and paste the snippet just before the closing </body> tag of your website. The panel includes step-by-step guides for common platforms, including WordPress and Wix.

Troubleshooting

  • "No Avatar Selected" -- select an avatar in Appearance before testing, sharing, or saving.
  • Test session won't start -- you may be out of credits. Check the credits page or upgrade your plan.
  • Avatar Name Required / Image Required -- custom avatars need a name of at least 3 characters and either an uploaded image or an image URL.
  • Widget not appearing on your site -- confirm the embed snippet is on the page, and that you copied it while the correct agent was selected.
