Notification Settings
Notification settings let you control when and how you receive alerts about calls, voicemails, texts, chatbot conversations, calendar events, and other activity handled by your AI receptionist.

Where to Find It
In your dashboard, navigate to the Notifications page (accessible from the sidebar). The page header shows a bell icon and the title Manage Notifications.
How Notifications Work
Each notification is defined by three things:
- Type -- What event triggers the notification
- Method -- How the notification is delivered (email or SMS)
- Recipients -- Who receives it (one or more email addresses or phone numbers)
You can create multiple notifications for the same event type. For example, you could send an email to your office manager and an SMS to your personal phone whenever a call comes in.
Notification Types
| Type | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Call | Completed inbound or outbound calls |
| Voicemail | Voicemail messages left by callers |
| Text | SMS/text messages received through the texting platform |
| Robocall | Detected robocalls or spam calls |
| Chatbot | Conversations from the website chatbot widget |
| Calendar | Calendar events and appointment bookings |
| Scenario | Custom scenarios you define (e.g., "VIP Caller," "After-Hours Emergency") |
| Intake | Intake workflow completions |
Delivery Methods
- Email -- Sends a formatted email to the specified addresses
- SMS -- Sends a text message to the specified phone numbers
SMS notifications may require a Pro subscription depending on your plan.
Creating a Notification
- Click the button to create a new notification.
- In the modal, fill in:
- Type -- Select the event type from the dropdown.
- Method -- Choose Email or SMS.
- Recipient -- Enter one or more email addresses or phone numbers (comma-separated). You can type new values or select from suggestions.
- Custom Scenario -- If you chose the Scenario type, describe the scenario.

Managing Notifications
All your notifications appear in a table. Each row shows:
- Type -- Color-coded tag (blue for Call, green for Text, purple for Voicemail, etc.)
- Method -- Email or SMS
- Recipients -- The addresses or phone numbers receiving alerts
- Status -- Whether the notification is enabled
Customizing a Notification
Click on a notification to open its detail view. From here you can:
- Edit recipients -- Add or remove email addresses and phone numbers
- Toggle content sections -- For call notifications, you can control what is included:
- Show Transcript -- Include the call transcript
- Show Call Summary -- Include the AI-generated summary
- Show Intake Forms -- Include submitted intake form data
- Show Workflow -- Include workflow results
- Show Call Summary Text -- Include summary as text
- Show Call Info Link Text -- Include a link to the full call details
- Preview -- See a sample of the email or SMS before saving
Deleting a Notification
Click the delete icon on any notification row to remove it. If you remove all recipients from a notification, it is automatically deleted.
Empty Call Notifications
You can toggle whether you receive notifications for empty or very short calls (e.g., a caller who hangs up immediately). This is controlled by a separate toggle on the notifications page.
Previewing Notifications
Before saving, you can preview what your email or SMS notification will look like:
- Preview Email -- Opens a rendered preview of the notification email
- Preview SMS -- Shows the text message format
Recipient Limits
Depending on your subscription plan, there may be a limit on the number of notification recipients you can add. The dashboard will notify you when you reach this limit.
