Respage has been in multifamily since 2005, covering chatbot, reputation management, and marketing services. Their chatbot product predates modern LLMs by more than a decade. The Respage chatbot framework was built around scripted flows and template responses. Newer LLM features sit on top of that template-driven conversation engine. The voice agent, chat bot, and outbound flows all sit on top of an intent-classifier + decision-tree platform that was designed years before modern LLMs existed. Recent LLM features are layered on the legacy stack, not native to it.
You get answers that look smart in demos, but in production the system still falls back to scripted flows whenever a prospect or resident asks something outside the trained intent set. Frontdesk was built in 2023, natively on LLMs, with no classifier or decision tree underneath.
