Google Voice Integration

Forward calls from your Google Voice number to your AI receptionist so every incoming call is answered automatically.

Prerequisites

  1. Build and test your AI receptionist โ€” if you haven't already, this should take about five minutes.
  2. Get a standalone number from Frontdesk โ€” this should take about one minute. You can do this from the Phone Number page in your dashboard.

Linking Your Number

Important: When following these steps, do not try to verify by text or you will have to start the process over. You must click "verify by phone" โ€” the small text link below the phone number input field.

  1. Open the Google Voice app on your phone.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Under Account, select Devices and Numbers.
  4. Under Linked Numbers, select New Linked Number.
  5. Enter your Frontdesk standalone number in the text box.
  6. Click "verify by phone" (not the text verification option).

Finding the Verification Code

Google Voice will call your Frontdesk number and leave a verification code. To find it:

  1. Log in to your Frontdesk dashboard.
  2. Go to Logs > Call Logs.
  3. Click Refresh to load the latest calls.
  4. Look for a recent transcribed call containing a six-digit verification code.

Tip: The AI transcription may interpret some digits as words (e.g., "four" instead of "4"). Read the transcript carefully and convert any spoken numbers back to digits.

  1. Enter the six-digit code into your Google Voice app to complete the linking.

Final Setup

After linking, complete these steps so your receptionist answers every call:

  1. Open the Google Voice app.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Under Calls, toggle Call Screening to off.
  4. Call your Google Voice number to verify that your AI receptionist answers.

Your Google Voice number is now connected. All incoming calls will be forwarded to your AI receptionist automatically.
